Casba has won the 2015 Urban Development Institute of Australia NSW’s President’s Award for the best urban development project in NSW and the ACT.
Judges commended the project’s balance of heritage considerations with inner city living environments.
Institute president Martin Wells said the project reflects the industrial past of the site, but feels inviting and homely.
It’s a wonderful, innovative project of which the developer, its residents, the community and indeed the industry can be proud. This boutique project successfully balances many juxtapositions including the old and new; public and private; retail and residential; and heritage and innovation. Cornerstone Property Group has shown courage in creating a project that is consistent with its surroundings, but unique in its character.
