A highly-considered development to provide a sustainable urban quarter with a wide range of social and cultural amenities
The Project consists of three components: the former St Kilda Railway Station, its curtilage to the northwest, and the former service station site located to the east of the station. It provides 128 apartments and 2,500sqm of retail space.
Focusing on the provision of retail convenience stores, the development aims at contributing significantly to both the urban context and the local community.
Retail includes an IGA and community shops, restaurants and bars serving the surrounding community. An extensive mix of residential apartments range from bedsits, 2 storey loft apartments with roof terraces with excellent view to St. Kilda beach or across Alfred Park and 2 and 3 bedroom apartments each with 2 bathrooms.
The challenge of addressing the existing and proposed uses, with the historic nature of the site, has culminated in the derivation of an architectural expression which is sensitive, yet appropriate to the character of the locale.
