The Geelong Centre for Emerging Infectious Diseases is a collaborative, multidisciplinary research partnership between an education and research institute (Deakin University), a health care and research institute (Barwon Health) and an animal health research institute (CSIRO). This world-class research facility, housed in the Barwon Health Teaching, Training and Research building, is based on a “One Health” approach to understanding and mitigating the threats posed by emerging infectious diseases. Providing laboratory and collaborative space where clinicians and researchers can work together to address risks, outbreaks and therapeutics, the Centre will be nationally and globally unique, maximising the use of the human and physical resources amongst its partners..
