An urban renewal project, the development connects Phillip and Danks Street, Waterloo with a generous public plaza enlivened by ground level shops and restaurants. The buildings are carefully integrated into their respective streetscapes with residential apartments on the upper levels that lend life to the street by day and night. As a showcase for renewed possibilities for urban living, Casba makes a bold yet not grandiose statement involving the surrounding environment without losing the individual presence of the building. Casba has won four major awards from the NSW chapter of Australian Institute of Architects and the Urban Density Institute of Australia, and the World Architecture Festival, celebrating Casba as the leading example for mixed use projects world wide.
