A Strategic Masterplan provided a blueprint for the implementation of service wide change for Bendigo Heath Service and a detailed redevelopment Masterplan addressed the current inadequacies, inefficiencies and introduction of new services to Bendigo Health.
The objective of the Strategic Masterplan, in the context of the Service Plan and Models of Care was to provide a service wide overview of future redevelopment of the health service. Various siting options including greenfields were examined before selecting an option that closed Mercy Street and built a new acute hospital between the existing acute and sub-acute hospitals. This option was developed during the Feasibility Study for preparation of the Business Case and Gateway Review.
