The Green Building Council of Australia released a Green Star tool for healthcare facilities with four key objectives: to minimise the environmental impact of their buildings, improve patient health outcomes and staff productivity, receive recognition for green leadership and achieve real cost savings.
Using this tool, the new Royal Children’s Hospital designed by Billard Leece Partnership and Bates Smart in joint venture aims to be Australia’s greenest hospital, applying evidence based initiatives to lead to healthier patients, happier staff and greener cost effective outcomes.
