Michael Cashell joins Billard Leece Partnership in Sydney

BLP is further strengthening its capabilities in the Health, Life Sciences & Education sectors with the appointment of Michael Cashell as Senior Project Architect & Project Director.

Michael is well known for his innovative design solutions for complex cleanroom, production and containment facilities, and is highly adept at working with large multi-stakeholder teams. His impressive portfolio of Pharmaceutical and Biotech projects – both locally and in Asia – includes clients such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Novartis, Roche Australia, Baxter Healthcare and Fresenius Kabi Australia, Grünenthal Group (China) and Hoe Pharmaceutical Malaysia.

In the Education sector, he has delivered a range of NSW Department of Education projects and has previously worked with existing BLP clients such as the University of Sydney and the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.

The move follows the appointment of Victor De Baets as Science + Technology Leader in Sydney last year, with the remit to drive one of BLP’s fastest growing sectors.

Michael and Victor bring a combined 60 years of continuous specialist experience in the design of complex hi-tech manufacturing, research and containment facilities and we look forward to leveraging this into successful project outcomes for our clients in these sectors.

“I’m delighted to be joining a dynamic, innovative and design driven team of industry experts that have a clear client focus and are delivering outstanding projects,” said Michael.

Commenting on the appointment, Associate Director Victor De Baets, said:

As one of the key players in the PharmaBio sector, I have known Michael for many years. I have an immense respect for his specialist skills in the design of controlled environments, and his experience in delivering complex highly serviced projects will be a real asset to BLP and our clients.

We are delighted to welcome him to our team and look forward to working closely with Michael on growing BLP’s Science + Technology sector, both locally and in Asia.
