Unique one of a kind project, diversifying the educational and research capabilities of this rural campus.
Charles Sturt University (CSU) identified an opportunity to provide AgriSciences businesses and organisations with research and business facilities at their Wagga Wagga campus, bringing financial, economic and educational benefits to CSU, the Park occupants, and the wider community.
BLP was engaged in 2015 to masterplan an “AgriPark” that fosters collaboration and innovation between knowledge-rich businesses by co-locating them with CSU and NSW DPI within the Park, and thereby facilitate research wealth creation, employment and skills development in the local community.
The aim; to invigorate AgriSciences Research for the Riverina Food Bowl. In addition, the Park provided a potential opportunity to impact on AgriBusiness, science and research nationally and globally, as the issues of population growth, resource demands and food security became more prominent.
The location and the availability of land adjacent to the CSU campus provided an opportunity to achieve a unique project – one of a kind in Australia. By maximising the diversity of educational and research capability on the Wagga Wagga campus, the project sought to enhance the CSU brand and marketability both here in Australia and overseas, increasing the University’s overall profile in the research and industry engagement sectors.
